I like how he disconnects the word from the music itself, but it's debatable how many musicians playing "jazz" actually embrace freedom anymore. It's finding that freedom which makes jazz an art.

The SFJAZZ Center is being built specifically for jazz music and audiences alike. It will be the first concert hall of its type in the western United States. Located in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, the SFJAZZ Center is scheduled to open in January of 2013.
